Gratitude 044: Crocuses

Our crocuses have arrived! My wife and I get so excited each year to see these first signs that spring will in fact arrive at some point. I view these flowers’ annual appearance as a gift left to us from the previous owners of our home. Though we still have a few dreary months ahead, these crocuses add a shot of color to our yard to draw attention away from the dry brown stalks populating most of the beds. A few have just started to open in the sunlight, but soon the front bed will be covered in a temporary white and purple blanket. Today and for the next few weeks, I’m thankful for winter color.

Have you begun to notice any signs of spring? Enjoy and appreciate nature’s renewal.
