Gratitude 030: Our Officiant

While living in Seattle during and after college, my wife and I never found a church that suited us. When we got engaged, we needed someone to marry us, but we didn’t have a strong relationship with a pastor. However, my wife had been active in Young Life and had served closely with a man she respected. He graciously agreed to marry us, which was a huge blessing and honor. None of us took the marriage covenant lightly, and he offered to provide pre-marriage counseling sessions with him and his wife. They are a wonderful couple with a wonderful marriage and four wonderful boys. It was a privilege to learn from them and pray with them as we prepared for our wedding. I am so grateful to Curt for making the commitment to walk with us through our engagement. Curt gifted us with his time and put much thought and effort into our pre-marriage sessions and his message at the ceremony. We will always be grateful for the special role he played in our marriage.
